This park is one of our local parks. It features a golf statue, and a historic marker. Links Plaza is where, in 1905, Col. John Hamilton Gillespie created the first golf course in Sarasota. The Jack Dowd–designed bronze sculpture of Col. Gillespie, titled “Royal St. Andrews – Father of Golf,” overlooks the fountain. Leashed pets are allowed. Open daily from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 midnight.
