This park is one of our urban open spaces. This space has been transformed into a vibrant gathering place at the heart of downtown Sarasota, supported by the growth of new small businesses that make the area thrive. In October 2024, Overtown Square opened to the public in the center of the Rosemary District, located on Boulevard of the Arts at Central Avenue. The park was named in honor of Sarasota’s first Black neighborhood, Overtown, and the stunning new design celebrates the community’s rich history, resilience, and spirit.
Inspired by dedicated Rosemary District community members, Overtown Square was created as an inclusive space for everyone to enjoy.
