We organize a wide range of special events and activities across the City of Sarasota, creating opportunities for the community to connect and enjoy our parks and facilities. From local gatherings to recreational activities, there’s always something to take part in.
We’ll also have a hands‑on activity for all ages called 'See Through Nature'—a fun and engaging way to explore the importance of trees in our environment.

🌴 July is Parks & Recreation Month! 🌞
Celebrate all month long with the City of Sarasota Parks & Recreation Department as we highlight the amazing spaces, programs, and people who help keep our community active, healthy, and connected.
Join us for our Pop‑Up Parks Fridays in July (starting after the 4th)! Each week features a different location and themed activity:
📅 July 10 – Robert L. Taylor Community Complex
Time TBA: Field Day on the turf. It's fun for all ages!
📅 July 17 – Payne Park in the amphitheater
Noon–2 p.m. Pop‑Up Games & Activities...plus World Record attempt.
📅 July 24 – Arlington Park & Aquatic Complex
Time TBA: “Chalk the Trail” – add your art along the trails!
📅 July 31 – Landscape Division
Time TBA: End‑of‑month celebration at Bayfront Park near the splash pad!
